I'm glad that due to my trip to Rome, I didn't know until after the danger was over that the fires in Orange County (which are finally contained) got within 2 miles of my house last weekend.  I'm thanking God even more for the fact that no one I know lost their homes, though some were evacuated and a university some of my friends attend (as well as two high schools many of my friends used to attend) suffered significant damage. Those who weren't as fortunate are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so glad you're all right--and that you were able to enjoy yourself when you would have otherwise been worrying. And I'm glad that you and yours are safe. I hate fires. Fires and tornados. I hope the fires burn themselves out quickly.
